Reaction videos are one of the most engaging content formats online, and with Detail, making them is incredibly simple. All you need is your iPhone and the video you want to react to.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through every step using the Detail app, from importing a video to exporting your final reaction.

Step 1: Pick Your Reaction Video

Choose the video you want to react to. You can use any video from:

• YouTube

• TikTok

• Instagram

• Etc

Open the video in its native app, then:

1. Tap Share

2. Scroll over to More

3. Tap Detail

4. Choose Reaction Video

This will automatically open Detail and import your chosen video into the reaction layout.

Step 2: Record Your Reaction

You’ll land in the Reaction layout. By default:

• The original video plays in the background

• You appear picture-in-picture with green screen mode enabled

You can go horizontal or vertical by just rotating your phone.

Use headphones to hear the video while recording. Without them, audio is muted to avoid echo. You can adjust volume after recording in the Audio menu.

Tap Record to start your reaction. You can play or pause the video to jump to the moment you want to respond to.

Step 3: Customize the Layout

Before exporting, you can change how your video looks:

• Tap Edit > Layout to choose from:

  • Split 1/2

  • Split 1/3

  • Circle or square - Picture in Picture

Want to turn off the green screen? Just tap Mask to toggle between your real background and green screen mode.

You can change the background of your green screen, go to:

• Edit > Canvas

• Tap Front to select a solid background color or an image from your camera roll

Step 4: Add Overlays and Audio Tweaks

Add more personality or information to your video by tapping Overlay:

• Add text

• Insert images

• Draw directly on the video

Each overlay can be timed using the timeline editor.

• Tap Audio to adjust the volume of the original video or your voice

• Tap Enhance to reduce background noise from your voice

Step 5: Export and Share

Once your reaction looks and sounds just right:

• Tap Export to save your video

• Share it anywhere
