In order to work with apps like Zoom, Twitch and Google Meet, Detail installs a camera extension.
Uninstalling Detail and rebooting your Mac should remove the camera extension so Detail no longer appears in the list of devices in video and streaming software.
Setapp users: unfortunately Setapp’s built in uninstall process does not delete the camera extension.
We created an app that will uninstall the camera extension for you. Just download the zip file from dropbox here, unzip it, move the app to your Applications folder and run it.
After removing the camera extension, you'll need to restart your Mac before the Detail Camera disappears from the camera selection options in other apps.
Detail also installs an audio plugin or HAL. If you’ve uninstalled Detail and you still see it in the list of audio devices in other apps, you can manually delete the Detail Audio plugin. Go to "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/" and delete the "Detail Audio.driver" folder.
