Mac App
Troubleshooting
In order to work with apps like Zoom, Twitch and Google Meet, Detail Studio installs a camera extension.
Uninstalling Detail Studio and rebooting your Mac should remove the camera extension so Detail no longer appears in the list of devices in video and streaming software. Please do not use an uninstaller, but delete the application directly from the Applications folder on your Mac. Some uninstaller tools do not handle the camera extension removal correctly, because of permissions.
After removing Detail, you'll need to restart your Mac before the Detail Camera disappears from the camera selection options in other apps.
Did the camera not get uninstalled correctly after rebooting? Sometimes extensions on macOS can get stuck after deleting an application. Follow these steps to remove the extension manually if this happened:
Install Detail from the App Store.
Open Detail.
Go the menu at the screen→ Detail → Settings → Uninstall Camera Extension.
Remove Detail by deleting it from the Applications folder. Warning: Please do not use any uninstaller software, they break Apple's uninstall scripts and don't have the correct permissions to remove camera extensions.
Reboot your Mac.
In the past, Detail also installed an audio plugin or DAL. If you’ve uninstalled Detail and you still see it in the list of audio devices in other apps, you can manually delete the Detail Audio plugin. Go to “/Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/” If there is a Detail plugin in that folder, it’s safe to delete. If you have a Detail microphone showing up on your system, you can remove it here: "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/".
