As of Detail 3.2, Detail comes with a camera extension using Apple’s latest API. This means you can use the Detail Camera everywhere, including FaceTime, Safari and even PhotoBooth but it does require some new security permissions.

When you first install Detail, you’ll see an alert that says “System Extension Blocked”. To enable the extension you’ll need to go to Security and Privacy pane in System Preferences. You’ll see a message that says “System software from application “Detail” was blocked from loading”. Click the lock at the bottom of the window to make changes (requires admin password) and then hit “Allow”.

We’ve tried to remove the old camera plugin for all users automatically but there’s a small chance you might have to delete it manually. If you see an alert in the app asking you to delete the old plugin, make sure you do or Detail won’t work in other apps.
