Reaction videos are a great way to respond to trending clips, tutorials, or moments you want to comment on. In this guide, we’ll walk through how to create a reaction video from start to finish and show you a few useful tips along the way.

Importing the video

From the home screen, tap Reaction Video. You’ll be prompted to import a video either by pasting a URL or selecting one from your camera roll. Choose the video you want to react to and tap Choose.

Once the video loads, it opens in a new project with the video playing in the background.

Recording your reaction

Use the player at the top of the screen to scrub forward or backward and choose where you want your reaction to start. When you’re ready, tap the pink Record button.

While recording, you can tap the background video to pause it and tap again to resume. You can pause and continue as many times as needed, giving you full control over your reaction.

If you’re recording while the video’s audio is playing, it’s recommended to wear headphones to avoid echo. If you prefer, you can also record with the video muted and adjust audio levels later.

Choosing a layout

You can choose different layouts for your reaction video.

• Split screen places your reaction next to the video.

• Picture in picture places your face on top of the video.

• Circle view gives a more stylized look.

You can switch layouts even after recording, making it easy to change the look of your video at any time.

Adjusting audio levels

Open the Volume panel to balance audio. You’ll see two sliders, one for the original video and one for your microphone. Adjust both until your voice and the source video sound clear and balanced.

Recording a faceless reaction

If you’d rather stay off camera, you can record an audio-only reaction. Start by creating a reaction video and importing your clip. Then tap Layout, select the single layout option, and go to Swap sources in the left menu. Choose the video as the main feed.

This setup lets the video play full screen while you add voice commentary without showing your face. You can still pause and resume playback as you record.

With these tools, you can easily create engaging reaction videos that fit your style and workflow.

In the next guide, we’ll dive into podcasting. See you in the next one.
