Welcome to the Getting Started series. Over the next tutorials, we’ll explore everything Detail can do, from simple recordings to podcasts, reaction videos, auto edits and live streaming. This first guide gives you a quick tour so you know your way around the app before we begin creating.

Get Started section

When you open Detail, you’ll land on the Get Started screen. These options are one-tap workflows designed to set up your project instantly.

Reaction video: React to a clip from your camera roll or import a link from apps like YouTube, Instagram or TikTok.

Record scripts: Read your script while you record.

Import video: Bring in existing footage and edit it directly in Detail.

Podcast video: Record with guests, locally or remotely.

Auto edit talking heads: Instantly turn long recordings into clean edited versions.

Auto edit podcast: Automatically edit multi-speaker conversations.

Live streaming: Go live from your iPhone or iPad in a few taps.

Menu

Tap the menu in the top right to access four sections:

Profile: Your own channel inside Detail. You’ll see your name, photo and personal share link. To upload a project, long press a video in your library and choose Upload project.

Settings: Adjust how Detail behaves to fit your workflow.

What’s New: See the latest updates and features.

Help: Find answers, guides and support whenever you need it.

Starting a project

At the center of your library, you’ll see the big plus button. This is where every new project begins — whether you’re recording something new, importing footage or setting up a podcast.

In the next guide, we’ll use it to film and edit your very first clip. Open Detail, explore the layout and get ready for the next step.
