In this guide, we’ll walk through how to use Detail’s teleprompter and how to add and customize captions for your videos. These two tools make it much easier to deliver confident takes and create videos that are clear, readable and engaging.
Teleprompter
From the home screen, tap Record scripts and you’ll see two options. You can let AI generate a script for you by typing in a topic. For example, type “five tips for starting a podcast” and Detail will instantly write a script you can use. This is helpful when you don’t know where to start or need a quick outline.
Or, if you already have a script, tap I have my own script and paste your text. Your script will appear on screen as a teleprompter so you can keep eye contact with the camera while reading.
On the left side, you’ll find helpful tools:
• AI Director to guide you while recording. You enter your topic, answer a few questions and it generates a structured script ready to use.
• Text size to make your script larger or smaller.
• Mirror to flip your view if needed.
• Speed to control how fast the text scrolls.
• Play / pause to practice your pacing without restarting your recording.
At the bottom, you’ll see the microphone icon which lets you mute or unmute your audio. If you’re using an external microphone, it will appear here as active.
Once you hit record, your script scrolls automatically, making it easy to deliver smooth takes without memorizing lines.
Captions
After recording, tap Captions in the bottom menu to automatically generate subtitles. Detail will transcribe your video and add captions instantly.
From here, you can customize them:
• Style: choose from different caption styles.
• Color: adjust the text and background colors.
• Animation: add effects like highlighting words or showing captions word by word.
If you spot any mistakes, you can edit captions directly by tapping on the incorrect text. You can also adjust caption length, alignment or turn the background on and off.
One powerful feature is masking captions behind you in the frame. This gives your video a dynamic cinematic feel while keeping the text readable, almost like motion graphics.
Captions help make your videos more accessible and they grab attention on social media where many viewers watch without sound.
In the next guide, we’ll explore how to enhance your content with music and voiceover. See you in the next one.
